Nice stay in Phong Nha

Good location. We were the only guests. The owner booked a bus for us, which worked perfectly fine. Breakfast was very simple but good for the price :)

2 days in phong nha

The family are so nice. The bed is firm but comfortable. Bathroom clean. The free breakfast (hot banh mi and bananas) was really delicious. You can book onward buses (much cheaper than online), tours of the caves, rent a bike etc directly from them. You are a 6 minute walk from the boat fock for phong nha cave and 40 minute ride from paradise cave.

Not really a negative but there is no common area, which is totally fine as there are great cafes and restaurants all around. Really great value all round.

Bahn mi sandwich for breakfast. Room was clean. Bed comfortable. AC worked.

The room didn't have a table or desk, only a chair. The owners didn't speak much English. Not very helpful when I asked about bus to airport.

the hostel owners were very kind people who wanted to help at every possibly opportunity. We had the private room which was spotlessly clean and had a great bathroom. The breakfast bahn mi was also really tasty.

Good

It’s not a backpackers hostel as you know it. It’s more like a home stay but it was super convenient as the bus drops you off right in front of it and even at 4am I was able to get a room. There wasn’t a room available in the dorm so they gave me the double room for the same rate. They are very friendly. Don’t speak English except for one and they made sure I got to my bus to Hoi An by motorbike. Its not great but you know you’re being looked after and they do their best. I found the room to be clean.

No heating. Room gets cold. Warm water only lasts for a little while.
